What's the safe word?

A new form of Cricket BDSM has been unveiled at the sports desk of TVNZ, which is not where one might have looked, instinctively, for new directions in bondage.
In case some bright spark notices it we reproduce the headline here.

Sri Lanka punnel Australia in Sydney.

O'course now blogger thinks that all the post should be in super-size and bolded. ha ha ,bless.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a member of the Sri Lankan team did not say that they had been "cruisin' the internets for some time lookin' for something new and one night, there it was!"
Punneling is new on the scene but is thought to consist of lewd sextional word play which cricket, with it's no balls, maiden overs and sticky wickets, lends itself to, quite readily.
Or maybe the gentle reader has a better idea of what punneling might entail?

HA! When you copy-paste the headline from the TVNZ site, trailing clouds of glory, Blooger in its wisdom also copies the surrounding HTML code... so everything from there on is in the "h1" headline mode, with its own colour and shonky line-spacing.

It appears that the sub editor has corrected the headline. NOT FUNNY NOW!

Punneling is when you very sexily join in on a pun thread at S,N and then very sexily everyone immediately stops punning. And you--very sexily--feel stupid.

It's very hot.

Punneling. Punneling? I think I may have punneled a time or two. It left a mark. Both times.

Oh Kay.

Here's what happened.

Many years ago, when people were not yet people, but cave men of Neanderthal-like proportions, a tribe of not-yet-people had a pet cricket named Punnel. During a particularly bad time for mastadon hunting, Gus found himself REALLY hungry. Frankie returned to the cave from the hunt, once again empty handed, and didn't see Punnel anywhere.

"Where Punnel?" Frankie quite naturally asked, as he could not relax.

"Punnel-in-Gus", he was told.

Well, you know, this initially led to some bad feelings, but cave men were well known for their sense of humor, so one day a few days later the tribe noticed Gus in the back of the cave with his head in Lydia's lap (cave men were also well known for their utter lack of modesty), and they all began jumping and laughing and chanting Punnelingus! Punnelingus! Punnelingus.

Yeah, I know, it's kind of lost something in the intervening millennia, but there it is, man...

As Wonkypedia tells us
Puncknowle (pronounced punnel) is a village in south west Dorset, England.
Said village being in the hundred of UGGSCOMBE according to The Dorset Page genealogy section.
So how many uggscombes to the puncknowle, again? Imperial measurements are quite confusing.
